ContractorCleared aggregates state contractor licensing board public records so homeowners can find licensed contractors in their city and confirm license status before they hire.

What We Do

We aggregate license records from state licensing boards across the United States — including the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), Florida DBPR, Oregon CCB, Washington L&I, and others — and present them in a single, city-first interface. Start with your city, filter by trade, name, or license status.

We display only what the state publishes: name, license number, license status, classification, city, and years since issuance. We do not compute scores, rank contractors, or fabricate fields. Individual contractor profile pages were removed in July 2026 — the city page is the primary browsing surface. See BIGUPDATE0717.md for the rationale.

What We Are Not

• We do not compute a trust score or endorse any specific contractor.
• We are not a paid directory — we do not accept payment for placement.
• We are not a substitute for verifying credentials directly with your state licensing board.

Data Sources

All data comes from publicly available government sources. We update our records periodically, but information may lag behind official databases. Always confirm license status directly with the relevant state board before hiring.
